13 days to a new view!

What is your view of you and who you are and do you need a new view?

What does God say about you in his word and do you believe it to be true for yourself?

I recently watched the movie I Feel Pretty.  It was basically about a woman who viewed herself as being unfit and overweight.  Because of her view of herself she had low self-esteem.  One day she fell and bumped her head.  She immediately believed that she was thin and fit even though nothing about her outward appearance had changed.  Her new perceptions of herself completely changed how she went about her day and how she interacted with other people.

Change your perceptions and you can change your life!  I own several different pair of reading classes.  I have a red pair, a blue pair, an orange pair, a yellow pair, etc.  The lenses are all the same.  What if everyday I put on the blue pair of glasses I believed that I was going to have a blue kind of day.  What kind of day do you think I would have?  What if everyday that I put on the red glasses I believed I was going to be angry most of the day.  I would most likely be angry most of the day.  The lens strength has not changed at all.  The only thing that has changed is my view of the day when I put the different colored glasses on.  When you get used to wearing the same colored glasses every day and you get used to viewing the world out of those same glasses it becomes almost 2nd nature to you to view things that way.  You almost cannot even see clearly because it's just your normal way of thinking.

So how can you change the way you view yourself and your day without anything changing about your outside appearance or anything changing about your day to day circumstances?

It is not easy?  You have to begin by believing that you have changed.  You have to meditate on the truths of God's word.  You have to fight for it.  You have to search God's words for his truths.  Here are some truths in the book of Ephesians that I have pulled out for you.  Begin each day with meditating on these scriptures and sayings:

Day 1:  Ephesians 1:4:  Even before God made the world he loved you and chose you in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. (Say: God loves me and chose me before I was born!  Through Christ Jesus I am holy and without fault in God's eyes!)

Day 2:  Ephesians 1:19-20:  I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God's power for us who believe him.  This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God's right hand in the heavenly realms. (Say:  God has given me the same mighty power that raised Jesus from the dead!)

Day 3:  Ephesians 2:4:  But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (Say:  God loved me so much that he gave his one and only Son to die for me to save me from the power of death!)

Day 4:  Ephesians 2:10:  We are God's masterpiece.  (Say: I am God's masterpiece!)

Day 5:  Ephesians 2:13:  But now you have been united with Christ Jesus.  Once you were far away from God, but now you have been brought near to him through the blood of Christ. (Say: I am united with God through Christ Jesus!)

Day 6:  Ephesians 2:19:  ....You are members of God's family. (Say: I am God's daughter and/or son!)

Day 7:  Ephesians 2:21:  ...becoming a holy temple for the Lord. (Say: I am God's house!)

Day 8:  Ephesians 3:12:  Because of Christ and our faith in him, can now come boldly and confidently into God's presence.  (Say:  I can pray with boldness and confidence!)

Day 9:  Ephesians 3:20:  Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. (Say:  God can accomplish more than I can imagine!)

Day 10:  Ephesians 4:8:  ...he has given each one of us a special gift... (Say: God has given me gifts!)

Day 11:  Ephesians 4:24:  Put on your new nature, created to be like God-truly righteousness and holy. (Say: I have a new nature, truly righteous and holy!)

Day 12:  Ephesians 5:8:  For once you were full of darkness, but NOW you have light from the Lord.  So live as people of light! (Say: I have light inside of me that is of the Lord)

Day 13:  Ephesians 5:18:  ...be filled with the Holy Spirit singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs ...making music to the Lord.  (Say: I am filled with the Holy Spirit and he is my daily guide!)

Don't just say these things once.  Repeat them all throughout your day.  Meditate on them.  These are very simple statements but very powerful truths that God has given us!  Try it for 1 month which means you will repeat these phrases over and over for 26 days and see how the lenses on your view of yourself and your circumstances change.  Again, you yourself will not change and your circumstances will not change but your view of those things will!

In 2 John verse 2-3 it says ...because the truth lives in us and will be with us forever. (Jesus lives in you and will never leave you!)  Grace, mercy and peace, which come from God the Father and from Jesus Christ-the Son of the Father-will continue to be with us who live in truth and love.  God's love and truth are going nowhere!  It is with you always!  His love is with you always!  In all circumstances!  It doesn't matter how you view those circumstances of your day.  His love never changes or diminishes.  Period!

So the question is, what are you willing to do to have peace of mind?  What are you willing to do to view yourself as God does?  It will not come naturally to you.  You must meditate on God's words daily, multiple times daily.  It starts when you get up each day. What color glasses will you wear today?
