Who is God?

Dancing.  Just that one word invokes joy to my heart.  It invokes it because it involves music, rhythm and movement.  As I have developed my relationship with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit they have shown me many truths.  I don’t have all the answers you may be looking for but I have experiences that I’d like to share in hopes that it will make you want to know them better for yourself.   A few years ago I was sitting in the corner of a busy gym.  The gym was full of high school students either bumping a volleyball, playing basketball or walking around the edges.  It was a sight of chaos the same way that my life was feeling at the time. I’m always striving and wondering what my next step in life should be, where should I be headed, what should I be pursuing and I’m always second guessing if I’m on the right path.  As I was staring across the busy room I was looking directly at the other corner of the gym that was empty and Jesus came to min...

Your name goes here, ______________, you're free!

As soon as you say, "I believe in Jesus!"  its just like this scene from Disney's famous movie, Aladdin.  Click here to watch.   When Aladdin releases the Genie from his bottle his life was completely changed from that moment.  He could now be free.  Free to do whatever he wanted to do.  Free from the duty of fulfilling other peoples wishes.  Is that true for you?  Are you free?  Are your chains gone or are you all bottled up?  Do you believe it to be true?  Are you living freely? I'm not but oh how I wish I was.  I say I believe that I'm free but my behavior, my stress level and my life SCREAM something different!  I spend most of my days trying to please those around me or worse, please myself.  The older I get the more aware I become of my shortcomings and the more aware I become of trying to be someone I'm not. I used to love to dance around the living room when I was little.  I come from a family who lov...

Do you need a water break?

Thirsty?  Are you feeling the need to drink something?  Are you in need of water?  Are you feeling parched? Water!  Water is so important to our daily lives.  I try to drink at least four 16oz bottles of water each day.  I began drinking water consistently in 2002.  I had gained a bunch of weight after giving birth to my 2nd child and had also quit smoking.   Water has no calories in it, it's good for me and at the time it kept me putting something to my mouth besides a cigarette.  It began a very good habit that I still keep today.  When I haven't had enough water for the day I can feel it in my body.   Why is water so important?  Let's see what google says,   "Our bodies are made up of 60% water.  The brain and heart are composed of 73% water and the lungs are about 83% water. Water forms saliva for digestion, keeps mucous membranes moist, allows body cells to grow, reproduce and survive, f...

Higher Love

Image
As I was praying about what to write about this month I asked myself this question, "What would God want people to know who read this?"  I truly believe that God would want you to know how much he loves you.  He loves you unconditionally and unconventionally. God loves you perfectly.  He created you.  He knows you fully and he accepts you fully.  He loves you so much that he gave you freedom to choose his love, to believe in his love and to follow his love.  No one will make you love him, not even him. You will always have God's love available to you.  All you have to do is accept it, trust it and follow it.  God will let you go and allow you to live on your own without his love.  He will not force you to stay in his love.  He has done all he can do for you.  It is our choice to live in his love or accept not to. What has he done? 1.  He made you 2.  He gave you freedom to choose what kind of life you'd like to ...
