A Warm Breeze
I can see him standing across the dark, fuzzy and crowded room.
I cannot quite seem to make out what he truly looks like but I know that I’m drawn to him.
Something about his stature is inviting and calls out to me. I feel paralyzed. I can’t even move.
He is scanning the room and then all of a sudden his gaze stops at me.
He stands and begins to walk in my direction. Is he coming to see me?
Someone goes up to him and starts talking and I begin to doubt.
He then pushes them aside and continues his way across the crowded room.
Another approaches him and he does the same. It seems as though he is determined to get
to me. When he is about 3 feet in front of me a crowd of dancers come between us and I
can no longer see his gaze. I put my head down in despair and when I have decided that
I will not get to meet this glorious being I feel a warm breeze touch my face. I look up and
it is him. He is tall and has dark wavy hair and deep bluish green eyes. Our eyes meet for
the first time. I feel as though he can see right through me. I am speechless and cannot
move. It is like a dream where you want to run faster to him but cannot.He stretches out
his hand and speaks the words I long to hear, Shall we Dance?

I want more than anything to be loved, to be accepted for who I am and for what I believe in.
I want my opinions and values to matter and to be validated. I want companionship with
someone who wants to be with me all the time. Someone who will pursue me. Someone who
desires to be with me and applaud me. I want to have freedom from all of my hurt, shame
and bruises. I want to be known, seen, heard, and understood.
I want more than anything to be loved, to be accepted for who I am and for what I believe in.

ashamed of all your scars. Run away, they say, no one will love you as you are." Like the
song says, we will NOT let them break us down to dust, I know that there is a place for us,
for we are glorious.
